જો તું ગાવાનું બંધ કરે તો
હું કરું , લખવા નું બંધ ,
પછી મને દોષ ના દેતી ;
જો આભ , ધરતી પર ઝૂકી જાય
' ને નદીઓ ના પાણી વહેતા થંભી જાય ,
જો ફૂલ વસંત ના વિખરાઈ જાય ,
તો મને દોષ ના દેતી ;
જો તું ગાવા નું બંધ કરે તો ,
મારા આંસૂ ઓ શું કરે ?
વરસવા નું છોડી ,
શું વાદળો તરસી જાય ?
હું કરું લખવા નું બંધ , તો
સાંભળશે કેમ સંસાર, તારા પાયલ નો ઝંકાર ?
તો મને દોષ ના દેતી ;
જો કરું લખવા નું બંધ , તો
પંખી , કરી બંધ ઉડવા નું , માળા માં લપાઈ જાય ;
સંકેલી પાંખ ને સૂતા પંખી ,
ન તારું નામ લઇ , ઘૂઘવાટ કરતા પંખી ,
તો મને દોષ ના દેતી ;
આજ છે , મે નો દિવસ પહેલો ,
જો વૈશાખ ના ધોમ માં ,
ફૂલ ગુલમોર ના મૂરઝાઈ જાય
તો મને દોષ ના દેતી
